A day we have been waiting for since last October.
Br. Joseph and his new bride Marie were married August 15, and baptized August 16th.
It was a glorious day, and the ocean was calm, just as Marie had requested!
Br. Joseph has been sporting his "Fro" for 40 something years!
He is a good man and one of the few that is always on time!! Now you know why Elder Sherwood likes him so much, being on time is huge!!!
Marie was so very shy when they first started coming to church, they sat on the back row and she never said more than "Good Morning". Knowing that, makes you realize what a miracle it was when she bore a powerful testimony after the baptism.
This will probably be the only time we will see Br. Joseph with a flattened "Fro"!
We all had a good laugh, and no one laughed louder than Br. Joseph!
The members of the Castries Branch have come to love Joseph and Marie. Br. Joseph makes sure his truck is "spit-spot" each Sunday, then he picks up (exactly on time) as many members as he is able to and brings them to church. Many of them do not have money for a bus and would not have transport without Br. Joseph's help. He has been doing that for months, we will love him forever for that act of service.

I get the goose bumps everytime I see Uncle Wayno out in the water doing baptisms. I love br. Josephs FRO. Love, love, love it that you are a blogger!
Love your stories and your pictures! But can't wait for you guys to get home.

HI! My name is Carol Leishman. This is the first time I've visited your blog and I just had to tell you how wonderful it is and how inspiring. My husband, Truman, and I just received our call to serve in the West Indies Mission. We report to the MTC on Oct. 6th. Sister Coleman, from the mission office, said we would probably be there a week then arrive in Trinidad on the 13th. We haven't received our area of service yet but will be happy where ever we are sent. Seeing your pictures and reading your stories made me that much more anxious to get into the field and start serving. Perhaps we'll meet sometime before you leave. We will be serving for 23 months. May God bless you in your great work.
Bishop and Sister Sherwood!
You two are awesome. What a beautiful place to serve a mission. It looks as if the field is white and the harvest is plentiful there. I remeber when Grandma Pace(Helen)told me that you two would be serving in the Caribbean I was instantly jeleous. Chelsea and I cannot wait fo the day we have the opportunity to serve. You are both an inspiration and I appreciate your example. If only we could have got Grandpa Pace (Phil)out on a mission to the one of the Church Ranches. They probably would not have liked him smoking his Marlboro's while working the Lord's cattle though. :)
Keep up the good work. I do have one question though... how did you get your Horse and Trailer to the island? No ropping for two years! I am sure the Lord will make up for the lost time. May your throw be sure and true and your dally strong and tight.
